Remembering the fields of gold.... As a prairie farmer's daughter, I remember the reverence with which my dad spoke when the ripening wheat would start to "turn". The success of the season hinged on the "turning". The ability to pay the bills and feed the family depended on the "turning".

(As an aside, the colors of the rainbow appear, in order, in this painting; I didn't plan it, but I think it was meant to be.)
